Mission

We seek to address the 20% of unmet mental health needs as reported by the NCAA Student-Athlete Health and Wellness Study (2023).

NCAA data shows a clear gap: student-athletes are 17–20% less likely to feel comfortable discussing mental health with coaches compared to physical injuries, and 8–10% less likely to feel coaches care about their mental well-being, despite coaches being their primary daily point of contact.

Working with student-athletes, coaches, schools, and conferences, we provide mental health and performance resources to improve athlete well-being and performance.

Developed with IRB research, theories and practices from leading sports psychologists and mental performance coaches, and professional mental health counseling models, our work addresses the 20% gap and reduces the need for additional mental health or performance resources with adequate prevention.

Meeting Your Needs

Whether you are a conference seeking to improve mental health initiatives or a individual student-athlete seeking resources, we tailor our work to identify areas of growth, address current systems, and provide evidence-based practices to initiate moving forward.

We offer a scalable Mental Health and Performance Training for every coach in your organization in addition to individual consultation where we work 1-on-1 with you to improve well-being and performance of student-athletes individually, or through programming implemented by coaches, administrators, or conferences.

The Foundation of Peak Performance

At Williams Mental Health and Performance, we value developing the whole person. Our approach is rooted in the belief that optimal performance requires more than physical training; individuals need dedicated resources to address their mental health, psychological skills, and overall well-being.
